By helping you to find advisers to decipher sometimes complex financial products, we have also decided to help LGBT companies by sharing part of our revenues generated from this site.
LGBT.co.uk and LGBT Finance were both formed during the time that the Civil Partnership Bill was progressing through Parliament. We were concerned that there was no specific advice being offered to the LGBT community and, to that end, contacted Stonewall and Equality Network to organise information seminars in Edinburgh. Following a successful series of seminars, it was clear that there was a need for a specifically LGBT information and financial advice service.
At the heart of our companies is the drive to improve the levels of service, behaviour and information available to the LGBT community. It was our intention from outset to share any profits with charities supporting LGBT issues.
Currently, we donate 3% of profits to Stonewall and Equality Network. As our companies grow, we hope to develop an in-house LGBT foundation which will take applications for support from members of the LGBT community.
